William Newton, DO

William J. L. Newton, DO, is a board-certified physician with a specialty in physical medicine and rehabilitation and pain medicine.  Dr. Newton received his medical education at Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University, in Downers Grove, Illinois. He completed his residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., where he served as chief resident.  He also has a Master’s Degree in sports medicine/athletic training from Illinois State University.

Karen is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and one of the original providers at Southern Tennessee Spine and Pain Center.  She completed her graduate nursing studies through Maryville University in 2020.  Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Karen worked as a respiratory therapist and RN.  Karen has over 25 years in the areas of Pain Management, Emergency Medicine, Surgery, and Respiratory Therapy.  Karen is excited to be a part of our team and brings and extraordinary level of experience in healthcare.  In her spare time, Karen likes to cook, swim and spend time with her family.


Scott Fowler, PA-C

Scott Fowler, PA-C

Scott Fowler is a Board Certified Physician Assistant who has specialized in spine, musculoskeletal medicine, and pain management for the past 12 years. He is a national speaker and key opinion leader in the field of Pain Management. Scott is an expert in ultrasound-guided joint and nerve blocks for musculoskeletal and neuropathic pain. Scott is passionate about what he does and takes pride in helping patients with acute and chronic pain affecting the spine, joints, and nervous system. Scott is an avid sports fan and was a pitcher in both college and minor league baseball. He is married and expecting his 1st baby boy. We are excited to have Scott join our team of pain management experts.
