Dr. Val joins the group from the Joel Health Clinic at Womack Army Medical Center at Fort Bragg , North Carolina, where she was an officer in charge. She was responsible for the overall leadership of a fifteen provider care clinic, which provided acute care, chronic care, preventive services and minor procedures, and more. Dr. Val also worked at Reynolds Army Community Hospital in Fort Sill, Oklahoma for a number of years in family medicine as a physician and in leadership roles.
Dr. Val was awarded a Bronze Star for her service in Joint Base Balad, Iraq. She served one year as Brigade Surgeon for the 555 Engineer Brigade where she was responsible for medical readiness, as was as acute and chronic medical care, of a deployed Engineer Brigade.
Dr. Val completed her undergraduate studies from the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York and received her medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency in family medicine at B. Martin Army Community Hospital in Fort Benning, Georgia. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Jennifer attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where she earned her Masters in Science of Nursing with a concentration in Family Healthcare Nursing in 2012. Before earning this distinction, Jennifer completed her Baccalaureate in Science of Nursing at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN. Along the way to Sewanee/Monteagle, Jennifer also studied at Chattanooga State Community College and Motlow State. She has certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Life Support, Pediatric Life Support, and Advanced Trauma Life Support. Before joining the local health system, Jennifer worked with Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga.
